The swimming-pools of Porto Moniz

The natural swimming pools of Porto Moniz are on the north coast of Madeira Island, set against a beautiful scenic backdrop where the lush green nature contrasts with the black cliffs and the blue sea. 

The pools formed among the rocks, and their waters are refreshed by the tides. They are natural pools with a swimming area of 4,000m2 and are not very deep, with an average depth of two meters, but there are many shallow areas ideal for children.

Admission to the pools costs €3. Inside you can find a snack bar, changing rooms, a children's playground, a first aid station, sun loungers, and umbrellas for rent. Lifeguards are present. 

During our excursion to Porto Moniz, we always make a stop of at least 1 hour and 30 minutes. If the weather is inviting, you can always enjoy a dip in these natural pools.
